Overtime event tonight!  We will have a volleyball tournament for boys and a flag football tournament for girls.  There will be 1 team from each grade level.  Please sign up with Mrs. Childress before the end of school on today (Wednesday).  There will be a limit of 8 members per team for volleyball and 10 team members for football.  First come, first serve on sign up.  If there are some senior football boys that would like to help coach and ref the girl's football game let Childress know.  Varsity volleyball players that interested in being a volleyball coach, ref or line judge also let Childress know. 

 

Musical practice tonight starting at 7PM:  Check the call board outside Ms. May's door for specific times!

 

WE NEED TEAMS!! Please sign up for OVERTIME football and volleyball by noon today!!!!!  One team per grade level.  See Childress.

Any SOFTBALL players who haven't turned in their uniforms or money - Coach Smith will be subbing on Friday.  Please bring it then.  If you need to know an amount that you owe - please call.  The following girls owe money: Dakota McNamara, Hannah Hutcheson and Lizzy Henely.

 

FCCLA Kick-off Meeting tonight at the Pizza Ranch at 6 pm.  Please sign up ASAP so we can plan for food!

 

Juniors & Seniors:  The Sylvan Learning Center in Mason City is hosting an “ACT Diag Day”, where high school students may come to take a full-length ACT assessment, including the optional Writing subtest, for free!  This diagnostic assessment is part of Sylvan’s ACT Prep course, and it is offered once before each official ACT test date. The “ACT Diag Day” for the October 23rd test will be hosted on Saturday, September 4th beginning promptly at 1:00 pm and ending around 4:30.  Space is limited – students need to call and register prior to the assessment.  If you have any questions or would like to register, please call (641) 422-9929. 

 

 

 

SENIORS & JUNIORS:

·       ACT Prep Guides are available from Mr. Haag in the guidance office.  If you are preparing to take the ACT, please see Mr. Haag to check out prep guides to help you prepare for taking the ACT.  The dates for ACT testing are posted on the Guidance bulletin board.  There are also instructions posted for registering on-line for the ACT.

·       Remember to keep checking the Guidance bulletin board for the schedule for upcoming college reps who will be visiting GHHS in the near future. 

·       If you are planning to go on a college visit, please see Jan in the office so she can print the paperwork you will need to have signed.

·       Jan will be updating the scholarship opportunities available for both Juniors and Seniors.  More information will be coming soon.
